Mr. Matthew Stein is a Senior Analyst (contract) at the Foreign Military Studies Office, with a primary focus on Eurasia.

He has published articles in Military Review, Small Wars and Insurgencies, the Journal of Slavic Military Studies, and the Small Wars Journal. He held a National Security Education Program (NSEP) Boren Fellowship in Kazakhstan (2008-09).

He holds a master’s degree in Russian and Eurasian studies from the University of Kansas.
