Mr. Lucas Winter

Mr. Lucas Winter is a Senior Analyst (contract) with the Foreign Military Studies Office, focused primarily on the Middle East and North Africa. Along with Jason Warner, he co-leads FMSO’s M-DIME Research Project.
He was an Arabic Language Flagship Fellow in Damascus, Syria from 2006-2007. He has extensive regional practical and academic experience, including publications in Middle East Policy, CTC Sentinel, Infantry Magazine, Engineer: The Professional Bulletin of Army Engineers, and Infantry Bugler. Mr. Winter’s current research focus is on Russian and Chinese military influence activities in the MENA region.
He holds an M.A. in International Relations from Johns Hopkins SAIS.
